No Halloween would be complete without a viewing of scary movies. While it’s fun to stay in becoming a couch zombie as you watch horror classics one after the next, going out to screenings offers it’s own set of thrills. As you might suspect, LA has no storage of film screenings this Halloween season. Here’s just a few of your many choices.Nightmare Before...

    1. Nightmare Before Christmas in Disney 3D: From October 23rd- November 1 you can catch Tim Burton’s holiday film in it’s annual run at the El Capitan Theater in Hollywood. There are multiple screenings daily and ticket prices vary.

    2. Halloween: What better place to watch the quintiscentual Halloween film than at The Hollywood Forever Cemetery? On October 31st only John Carpenter’s film will be playing. Gates 5:30 and the movie starts at 7pm. Be sure to get there early as it’s gaurenteed to be packed.

    3. Spine Tingler: The William Castle Story and “13 Ghosts” double feature: October 25th and 26th The New Beverly Cinema will be screening these two films. Screenings are at 4:00pm and 7:30pm and tickets are $7

Halloween4. Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde:  Even if this wasn’t a loved Hollywood classic, $2 for a flick these days is a pretty sweet deal. On October 27th LACMA will be screening this creepy tale at 1pm.

    5. The Sound Behind the Image III: Real Horrorshow!: Would you like an education with that film? On October 29th The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science’s will feature an evening that traces the evolution of sound in horror films. Sound editor David E. Stone will host and there will be plenty of special guests. It starts at 7:30pm and is $5 for the public ($3 for academy members)

    6. The Twilight Zone 50th Anniversary: Author Marc Scott hosts a tribute to this beloved TV show with episode screenings followed by a Q&A with tons of special guests. It will take place on October 30th at 8pm at the Egyptian Theatre. Tickets are $10
