Beach House
While technically summer will soon be coming to an end, the temperature in LA is showing no signs of dropping. As with most other things, LA works on it’s own schedule so you still have plenty of time to take advantage of the beautiful weather that makes us happy to be Angelinos. If you’re a sick of the
private beach house party scene and can’t even fathom the whole Venice Beach idea, the Annenberg Community Beach House might just be your saving grace.
Having opened earlier this summer along PCH in the former mansion of Marion Davies, this community space is open to anyone- no membership required. What’s the catch? Well, there really isn’t one. However, you have to make a reservation (they only accept 100 per day and you can make them up to 3 days in advance) and there are a few small fees depending on what activities you decide to enjoy. Grab some friends and spend the day there- there’s a pool, beach volleyball courts, a cafe and plenty of beach gear rental options. You can even get a tour of the Marion Davies guest house if you need to justify a trip to the beach as an educational experience.Posted on August 19, 2009
